Learn to use Fusion 360 To Produce Designs for Wood Working
Are you a wood worker looking for a way to design projects in 3D before cutting actual wood? Would you like to be able to create your own designs that can be manufactued later?
This course will allow you to use your Fusion 360 skills to create your own 3D design prototypes.
Aimed at those with some Fusion 360 experience or those that have already completed our Fusion 360 beginners course, this tutorial will show you how to use the software specifically for Wood Working.
Level Up Your 3D Design Skills
Learn to create accurate 3D designs virtually to allow you to refine and test ideas before cutting any actual wood.
What will you learn in this course:
- Start by creating basic connections in 3D
- Create a simple coat rack design using basic modelling techniques
- Move on to more complex designs making use of Fusion 360 design tools
- Learn about the different types of hardware included in Fusion 360
- Create further examples using more advanced methods
- Learn to work with drawing sheets to create dimensioned plans
- Learn to create assembly animations to provide potential customers with unique assembly instructions
- Learn to work with parameters that will enable you to create multiple design options from a single file.

"The price point was perfect because I am learning this as part of the volunteer work I do. The instructor is excellent he has helped me understand more in a few lessons than I have in a year"
We believe that this course is the best Wood Working based Fusion 360 course out there today.
We have taught thousands of people to use various CAD software over the years and look forward to welcoming you into our community of designers & makers.
Are you looking for 3D design software that will enable you to test your designs before cutting expensive materials? Would you like to learn the design skills in order to allow you to create your own designs for Wood Working? Do you want to be able to create assembly instructions and assembly animations to include in your products that you can then sell for profit? This course will allow you to quickly start using Fusion360 to create Wood Work designs.
If you have some experience with Fusion 360, such as our complete course, and would like to learn how to use Fusion 360 specifically to create models for Wood Working, then this is the course for you.
This course was designed for those with some experience with Fusion 360. We take your existing skills and learn how to tailor designs specifically for Wood Work designs. The course includes both instruction and follow-along projects to allow you to put into practice the skills as you learn them. You will learn how to produce a design model to good standards and hopefully inspire you to do even more!
As the course progresses you will gradually move on from the basic designs and learn more useful methods specifically used in design prototyping.
Learn to create basic items for Wood Working Projects
We start by creating typical wood working connections in Fusion 360 and joining vitual parts as you would in your real workshop.
We then move on to designing a basic coat rack before moving on to more complex design examples.
In this section of the course you will learn all the techniques needed to successfully prototype your design projects.
.
Learn techniques for outputting design data
Next, we show you how to document your designs as fully dimensioned fabrication drawings. These can be used to keep records or to outsource your design projects to others for manufacture.
This allows you to produce designs at home that can be produced elsewhere or made into a kit of parts that can be sold as 'flat pack' products.
We then show how you can create visual instruction drawings and animations to help with assembly
Learn more advanced techniques allowing you to quickly make multiple options of the same design
We then move on to looking at more advanced techniques with larger projects.
Learn about parametric design, how you can use this to easily change dimensions in a single file to give different size options without the need to redesign the whole project.
This is one of the biggest time saving features and will change the way you design your projects.

"Everything i wanted to know about the software, got it just as I wanted. Easy to understand, practice and an overall skill-developing course."
Why learn Fusion 360 from us?
With over 20 years of experience in a variety of design & CAD Management roles, Mike Freeman knows CAD software inside out.
Many instructors teach outdated methods which have no place in modern real-world use. The skills you will learn here will allow you to not only create professional drawings, but also allow you to enter the workplace with relevant CAD knowledge that will show any future client or employer that you were well taught.
