NASA SLS 3D Printed Model Rocket

This large display model of the NASA SLS rocket is easy to 3D print and is part of our rocket collection of downloadable STL files.

The SLS or Space Launch System is an expendable, super heavy-lift launch vehicle which is currenlty under development by NASA. It replaced the Ares I, Ares V, and Jupiter planned launch vehicles and is a design derived from the components and technology of the earlier Space Shuttle.

SLS will become the primary launch vehicle of NASA’s deep space exploration program and replaces the famous Space Shuttle that was retired in 2011. One of the planned missions for the SLS is to launch the planned crewed lunar flights of the Artemis program and a possible follow-on human mission to Mars.

Standing at approx 360ft high this roacket is an impressive feat of engineering and we believe also makes an impressive large display model.

Painstakingly recreated in Fusion360 this scaled replica is designed to be printed in sections so print time can easily be managed. These sections are designed to easily slot together, requireing only a small amount of glue. The model was designed so that the construction joints are in the same place as the joints in the real rocket.

We are pleased to provide the STL file for this rocket, completely free of charge with  full resale licensing. All we ask is that you do not share this file or put it up on other STL sharing sites such as thingverse. If you would like to share it or link to it(i.e. from a youtube link) then please link to this page so that we may keep the model up to date.

The main body is designed to be printed on an FDM printer and our display models shown, were printed on the Creality Ender 3

We also provide a suggested decal sheet which can be printed on clear, transfer film and applying to the painted rocket.

Here at Aeroform3D we love to see how our models have been painted up and displayed and encourage you to upload photos of your printed models to our facebook page. Be sure to check out or YouTube channel for more info on this and other models.
